How does Wallpaper Peeling occur?

Damp on your walls can cause Wallpaper Peeling through a few key mechanisms:

Weakening of adhesive: Wallpaper is typically attached to walls using adhesive. Excess moisture or dampness in your walls can weaken the adhesive, causing it to lose its effectiveness. When the adhesive is compromised, the wallpaper may start to detach from the wall, leading to wallpaper peeling due to damp.

Expansion and contraction: Damp conditions can cause the underlying wall surfaces to expand and contract. This fluctuation in size and dimension can create stress on the wallpaper. Over time, the repeated expansion and contraction of the damp walls can cause the wallpaper to loosen and peel away from the wall.

These fungal organisms can thrive on the surface or underneath the wallpaper, especially if there is inadequate ventilation in your home or high humidity. As Mold and mildew grow, they can release active proteins that break down the wallpaper adhesive or create pressure behind the wallpaper, causing it to peel.
